Beginners Ashtanga Yoga
This will explain the various layers of Ashtanga yoga. Where the breath, internal locks, gaze and individual poses are explored. We will move at a slower pace & break down the salutations,standing and selected seated poses from the Primary Series.
Basic Vinyasa Mixed Levels
A class all can benefit from with a breakdown on how poses are constructed. Alignment is everything when it comes to yoga. During the session, one will be given options of levels to take in various postures. Beginners also incorporate yogic breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques - great for stress relief and overall relaxation. Mixed Levels
This practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind and structured around rejuvenating and healing the body.
Yin Yoga is all seated postures, combined with breath work, held at a slower pace and goes beneath the superficial muscles to target the dense connective tissues of the body – often in the hips, pelvis, and low back – which are difficult to open and can result in both limited flexibility and stagnant energy. This deep practice is gentle, yet intense, helping students not only to open the body, but also to cultivate the ability to observe and stay with the sensation. All Levels
Bandha Barre with Yin Yoga
Pilates, Ballet and Yin Yoga
There are three bandhas expressed in the philosophy of yoga - "Mula Bandha", "Uddiyana Bandha" and "Jhalandara Bandha". When all three bandhas are activated at the same time, it is called "Maha Bandha": the great lock. This class takes those three locks into three elements of elegant fitness: yoga breath (jhalandara bandha), pilates core (mula bandha), and Ballet as the pelvic strength (uddiyana bandha). Having these three locks combined will give you a balance and very toned practice that is hard to achieve otherwise. Bandha Barre classes will not only relieve stress, but give a calm structure to your body and mind. It is a true grounding experience that is vital in so many areas of your life . Mysore Independent Practice
This is a class based upon the principles of the traditional Bikram Hot Sequence with no vinyasa, which is great for both beginners or an experienced practitioner.
Seated, strengthening postures and standing postures are held for longer periods of time, again without a vinyasa (flow).
The is class built to help stimulate the production of synovial fluid, which not only lubricates and nourishes the joints, but also activates chondrocytes (the cells found in healthy cartilage) to lay down new cartilage. By engaging our muscles to both pull and push on the bone, yoga surpasses the bone-strengthening benefits by lifting with gravity to define, renew and encourage optimal health in our bodies.
The classroom is heated and poses are modified to help one receive the best benefits for their practice.
